A foil is another character in a story who contrasts with the main character, usually to highlight one of their attributes.
Obviously, Satan is a foil. However, the peace and seranity of God’s origanal creation contrasted with the destrucion of the flood is another.
The ‘Evil’ of mankind which was so bad that God decided to wipe out mankind, compared to todays events.
