16 And the LORD God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden;
17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die.” (Gen 2:16-17 NIV)
The fall of Man is a very important Doctrine. It states that because of the Disobedience of Adam, (original sin) we are born separated from God.
However, God allows for a sacrifice to be made to remove our sin. At first, it was a sacrifice of an animal, but this is a foreshadowing of the perfect sacrifice of Jesus himself.
3 But those sacrifices are an annual reminder of sins,
4 because it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.
5 Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said: “Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me;
6 with burnt offerings and sin offerings you were not pleased.
(Heb 10:3-7 NIV)
